Modern hobbies of children and adolescents Social teacher Timina L.I. GBOU secondary school No. 511 Pushkinsky district, St. Petersburg

Velotria l, or as people call it - parkour on bicycles. Parkour is “rational” movement and overcoming obstacles along the way (walls, stairs, etc.). It combines many rather complex and dangerous tricks: somersaults, jumping with support on hands. Tracers - (people who do parkour)

Akrostreet is a street acrobatics that involves performing quite complex and dangerous stunts: headstands, jumping from heights, somersaults. Pain is not the only danger that threatens a teenager who decides to get a tattoo or piercing. A bright and shocking image will undoubtedly attract the attention of others when a teenager wants to stand out from the crowd, find his idol, even if he does not fit into general social standards, and be like him.

Stalking - visiting and exploring abandoned places. Stalkers, like diggers, are also close to the “romance” of abandoned places, but, unlike diggers, they also visit ground locations: unfinished buildings, remote villages, idle factories. Digging is the descent and study of underground communications (subway mines, bomb shelters, and so on).

Adolescent children go through several stages of personality development. At this time, the child is looking for his place in the world, makes friends, and has idols. The teenager is filled with energy and interest in life, so he strives to try different activities. Some show their talents by playing music, dancing, and sports. Others find self-expression through potentially dangerous hobbies, including extreme ones. If such hobbies are not controlled, the child may suffer!

Passion for dangerous selfies. The main attraction of such selfies for teenagers is the opportunity to demonstrate their prowess and recklessness to millions of peers and gain their recognition and respect.

Roofing – walking on roofs. Armed with a camera or a regular phone with a camera, roofers are ready to wander around the attics and roofs of city high-rise buildings for days and take pictures of the views from above. Skywalkers climb to the highest objects: the roofs of skyscrapers, towers, bridges, they climb there only to take “cool” photographs. In the photographs you can see how they balance in front of the lens, but in reality they hang at a height of hundreds of meters from the ground, where the slightest mistake could cost them their lives. Skywalking - conquering the highest points in the city without special equipment. Skywalkers, like roofers, love heights. Even the name of this hobby is literally translated as “walking across the sky.”

Hitching – travel outside the cabin of an electric train or tram (on the roof, on the running board). The main danger that awaits the hitchhikers is, of course, falling onto the rails under the wheels of a moving train. Careless teenagers also die from electric shock. Basically, this fate awaits those who like to ride on the roof. Several hundred teenagers die on the country's railways every year. Planking is a fashionable flash mob that tempts with its accessibility. Its essence is to lie face down in an unusual place and capture it in a photo or video.

Baseclamping is climbing to great heights without insurance. The hobby of eysclambers is to climb steep walls and bridges without protection. BASE jumping is jumping from a height of several hundred meters from steep cliffs and other hills with a special parachute.

BUNGEE JUMPING AND ROPE JUMPING. A bungee is a jump upside down with a special rubber rope tied to your feet. With such a jump, the elastic band stretches and the adrenaline hunter is thrown up and down. When rope jumping, the jumper uses a climbing harness (arbor and chest harness) and jumps with two ropes (the main jumping rope and the safety rope) attached to his belt. A distinctive feature of rope jumping is that the jump ends with an exit to the pendulum, that is, the jumper swings from side to side.

A “dog high” is the deliberate cutting off of oxygen supply to the brain to produce a “high.” A game between life and death. The average age is from 12 to 19 years. Computer games create a special style of thinking, cruelty, aggression, and permissiveness. Finding a child on the Internet without parental control can lead to his involvement in games of a suicidal, extremist and sexual nature.

There is only one answer: eliminate the causes that cause them. Try to understand the teenager. Instill in him confidence in his own abilities. Make sure he never feels alone. HOW TO AVOID DANGEROUS HOBBIES WITH TEENAGERS?

Every year new hobbies appear among young people. Young people often risk their health and life to prove their toughness and get a thrill!

Today we will talk about the hobbies of “selfie”, “train surfing”, “roofing” and whether it is worth making these activities your hobby.

"Selfie"

“Selfie” is a photo of yourself. You can make it your hobby.

Secondly, you can only take a “selfie” if you are in a safe place and your life is not in danger.

Thirdly, when taking a “selfie”, observe universal moral and ethical standards of behavior and, of course, under no circumstances should you take a “selfie”:

  • on railway tracks;
  • on train cars;
  • with a weapon, it does not matter whether it is loaded or not;
  • during a thunderstorm or at sites where there is a danger of electric shock;
  • on objects where it is difficult to maintain balance;
  • on steep descents or ascents;
  • on the roof of a building or near an open window;
  • with wild or dangerous animals;
  • on the highway;
  • driving a vehicle.

"Trainsurfing"

“Trainsurfing” in everyday life is “hooking” - a method of transportation that involves traveling on trains and other rail vehicles from their outside.

You can’t make it not only your hobby, but even try it. The railway, metro and any other vehicles are not a place for such actions, but a high-danger zone!

Main hazards:

  • receiving injuries of varying severity when falling from a vehicle;
  • receiving injuries of varying severity when falling from a height;
  • electric shock.

In addition, “obsession”, according to Article 11.17 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, is an administrative offense, with all the ensuing consequences.

"Roofing"

“Roofing” – walking on the roofs. “Roofing” is deservedly one of the most dangerous entertainments for young people.

Main hazards:

Also in accordance with paragraph 4.6.1.22. According to the rules and regulations for the technical operation of the housing stock, persons who are not related to the technical operation and repair of the building are prohibited from being on the roof, hence the possibility of conflicts with local residents and problems with law enforcement officers.

In conclusion, let us remind you that before you do anything, think about what consequences your actions may have for you personally and for others. Trying to be a bright personality, individuality, do not forget that your individuality should not damage your life and health and cause harm to the people around you.

– a period that most parents dread. And indeed, once affectionate and open children suddenly become rude and secretive, and that’s not so bad. One of the features of adolescence is an increased desire for risk.

What hobbies are considered extreme?

In an effort to define for themselves the boundaries of what is acceptable, teenagers often commit actions that are life-threatening or illegal. In modern society, there are many different informal associations of teenagers who are interested in extreme pastimes, here are the most common of them:

    digging (research of underground communications),

    roofing (walking on roofs),

    hooking (travel outside trains),

    stalking (exploration of abandoned objects),

    infiltration (penetration into protected areas).

Psychologists' opinions on the phenomenon of risky behavior

There is no consensus among psychologists about the phenomenon of risky behavior. One point of view speaks of risk as a state of pleasure, a situation of creating artificial meaning in life, the other - as a variant of hidden suicide, i.e. as self-destructive behavior, the third - as auto-aggression - conscious or unconscious activity aimed at causing harm to oneself in the physical or mental sphere.

Some psychologists view risky behavior as natural human behavior, as a way of actively experiencing fear. During adolescence, children are actively engaged in learning about themselves and the world around them, and this process is always associated with mastering the new, unknown, uncertain, and unpredictable. By taking risks, a teenager mobilizes his strength, gains certain experience, and increases his risk by choosing safe forms of risk that are not associated with mortal danger to life. In this case, the desire for risk represents the basis of knowledge of the world and shows a person as a responsible and independently acting individual.

One of the most dangerous combinations of the characteristics of adolescence is the combination of a desire for risk and belief in a personal myth - the characteristic adolescent consciousness that they are unique and are an exception to the usual laws of nature, and therefore will live forever.

They may mistakenly perceive their behavior as risk-free and underestimate the likelihood of a bad outcome. Numerous studies have shown that teenagers really do not understand the full danger of what is happening; many of them are sure that they are not doing anything dangerous. Personal myth also plays a big role in teenage suicides - teenagers are sincerely convinced that they cannot die.

Most often, teenagers view their extreme hobbies as an opportunity to grow in the eyes of their peers and feel like an adult and independent. Unfortunately, such behavior can often meet with approval from peers, whose opinion is highly valued by the teenager; moreover, often an extreme feat serves as a passport to the world of subcultures that the child wants to get into.

Of course, there is no one reason why teenagers begin to engage in extreme hobbies. Usually they are prompted to do this by a complex of factors; we will list the main ones:

  • genetics

    Psychophysiological characteristics are genetically transmitted from parents to children, for example, the mechanism of the nervous system, on which the formation of a teenager’s desire for risk directly depends. A surge of adrenaline is an exclusively physiological experience, so it would be incorrect to talk only about the psychological component.

  • social environment

    The environment in which a child is raised leaves an imprint on him forever. Lack of information about the consequences of illegal actions, discrimination on any grounds, a low level of legal awareness among people around the child, as well as imperfections in government and legislation that create the opportunity to break the law - all of these can be factors that cause a teenager to need extreme sports.

  • perceived environment

    The family plays a major role in shaping the child's personality. The teenager reads the behavior patterns of his parents, and often these models turn out to be destructive (destructive). Lack of attention from parents and dysfunctional relationships within the family directly affect the child’s desire for risk.

  • personal characteristics

    Internal motivations, attitudes, values, interests and beliefs, low self-esteem, the desire to assert themselves - all these are characteristic traits of adolescents that lead adolescents to the roofs of houses and trains.

The role of social networks

Social networks give teenagers complete freedom in discussions, and in most cases, it is in the virtual space that teenagers unite into interest groups, and then discuss their extreme hobbies in closed forums, agreeing on a new trip or posting photos and videos of their exploits. Often attempts to take a “selfie” on the roof of a train end in death. It should be noted that in 2016, Roskomnadzor blocked more than 60 thematic groups of hookers on social networks, recognizing riding on the roofs of trains as a hidden form of suicidal behavior.

On the Internet, young extreme sports enthusiasts discuss the possibilities of entering closed areas, figure out how to avoid getting caught by the police, share with each other their secrets about ways to penetrate underground communications, and also clandestinely sell keys to doors between subway cars, equipment for breaking doors leading to roofs houses, and data on the security features of buildings or metro stations.

If you know that your child is prone to risky behavior, it is better to direct his energy in a positive direction and come up with something alternative. In the modern world, there are a huge number of sections and clubs that can satisfy the need of teenagers for an adrenaline rush: karting, rock climbing, all types of martial arts and much more. You can also find many ways of active and extreme leisure activities that are safe for people’s life and health. If you and your whole family decide to ride ATVs this weekend or climb into a cave together, visit a scary quest or take a “ropes course,” then your child will quickly lose the need to break the law, because he will receive adrenaline in a socially acceptable way, and will also feel the love and support of your family.

psychologist of the portal “I am a Parent”

Surfing on big waves. It is certainly an exciting activity that requires great skill from the surfer. The largest waves can reach from six to fifteen meters in height. The result is about 10 deaths per year.

Skydiving. They say that skydiving fills your veins with adrenaline like no other sport. This may be true, since the danger is very great even with a working parachute - people lose consciousness in the air or collide with each other. On average, about 20 people die per year.

Rock climbing. People love to climb mountains, but if you do it without preparation and equipment, it won't last long and you'll end up at the bottom. Every year, 25 people die from falls (we are talking about falls, and not about altitude sickness and other dangers awaiting a climber - with them there are a couple of hundred).

BASE jumping, jumping from fixed objects with a parachute. A significantly more dangerous sport than traditional parachuting, as evidenced by the numbers: in 2,137 jumps, one becomes fatal. About 100 deaths per year.

There is much more water on Earth than land - and it is not surprising if many people want to explore the seas on their own. However, diving is strictly contraindicated in case of a number of illnesses, as well as in case of overwork, hangover or even severe nervous excitement. These rules are often ignored - which leads to 150 deaths per year.

Piloting. It would seem, how many people can have their own airplanes to use as a hobby? Oddly enough, a sufficient number. When flying an airplane, the slightest mistake is enough to cause it to crash—and this also happens quite often. About 400 deaths per year (including passengers).

Boat swims. Are they really more dangerous than flying an airplane? Yes, because they are much more accessible, and the water element can be very treacherous. The recent tragedy at Syamozero is proof of this. On average 736 deaths per year.

Streetluge. In fact, sledding on asphalt means finding a higher point and sliding down. Even full equipment does not save extreme sports enthusiasts from terrible injuries and death. Once every thousand runs someone dies. Overall, there are about 1,000 deaths per year.

Motorcycle rides. A hobby shrouded in a romantic aura of the spirit of freedom. Unfortunately, not everyone realizes that a motorcyclist on the road is incredibly vulnerable and must always be on alert. It is one of the most dangerous occupations in the world, with 4,462 deaths every year.

Death awaits a person who wants to climb too high or accelerates too hard. Many thrill-seekers sooner or later make the only and last mistake in their lives. If your hobby is one of these, take care of yourself. But still take risks, of course, because life without risk has no meaning.
